What is JUST APE NOW?
Jan was a river ape who had never owned anything that couldn’t be peeled, thrown, or eaten. One afternoon the troop’s stream went weird. A tourist phone fell in, screen still on, and the water lit up with green candles that looked like bananas standing on end.
Jan fished it out, shook it dry, and tapped the shiny button that said BUY because it was the same color as a ripe one. The phone made a sound. His balance went up. He made the sound back. The troop thought he had found a new call.
He did not understand wallets. He understood momentum. When the line went up he slapped the mud and bought more. When it dipped he bought harder, the way you grab a branch that is already breaking because letting go feels worse. Other apes watched. One copied him. Then three. Then the whole bank was hunched over cracked screens, grunting at charts.
They named the coin after the noise he made when the first trade filled: JAN. Supply was fixed at the number of stones he could count before he got bored, which was not many. Liquidity was a puddle. The website was a photo of Jan mid-leap with the caption “he aped.” That was the whitepaper.
Jan did not do AMA’s. He did not do roadmaps. He did one thing, over and over, whenever the candles turned green: he aped. The troop aped with him. Strangers on the internet aped because the story was shorter than their attention span and the ape in the picture looked like he had already won.
By night the phone was dead and Jan was back in the trees, richer in a way he could not spend and louder in a way the forest had never heard. Somewhere a chart was still moving. Somewhere a new ape was reading the caption and reaching for the button.
He found crypto. He aped. The rest is just candles.
